FAQs

How long does it take to dry me?

We like to say between 3-6 minutes. To see how we worked this out go to airTeem Calcs. Drying time can vary from person to person. The dryer emits an average air temperature of 38°C (airTeem Calcs), which, dependent on ambient temperature, could differ by 3-4°C. However, people tend to find their own methods that work best for them.


Is it quick and easy to fit?

Yes, the airBody Dryer® pod is suspended from a wall bracket which is fixed to the wall with two screws. Electrical installation needs to be complete by a self-certifying electrician because of the wet area it is installed in.


What and where is the ‘collar’?

The collar is the part that connects the pod to the leg top. It is inside the pod, white and square. It slots into the leg top when assembling the dryer.


What sealant should I use to secure the leg to the collar?

A high quality, heat resistant silicone, which can withstand temperatures of 70°C, will provide the best results.


What is the airBody Dryer’s exact size?

The dryer can be altered to fit various locations. The standard size of the dryer is 201cm [79”] tall. This includes the foot, both leg sections and the pod. Each leg is 98cm [38”] in length. The pod measures 27.5cm [11”] and has a depth of 26.5cm [10”].

Why does a self-certifying electrician have to install the airBody Dryer?

Since the 1st January 2005 all electrical work in dwellings have to comply with building regulation Part P requirements and be carried out by persons who are competent to do the work. This includes all work that involves adding a new circuit to a dwelling, or electrical work in kitchens and bathrooms or in ‘special locations’. Therefore, a self-certifying electrician who is a member of one of the self-certifying schemes can certify that their work complies with the building regulations and issue the owner with a Building Regulations self certification certificate. Does the airBody Dryer come as a complete unit?

Yes, the unit comes complete; all that is required are the components to be put together and a self-certifying electrician to install the airBody Dryer®.


How do I maintain my airBody Dryer?

The airBody Dryer® is made from durable ABS plastic and has added UV protection. We recommend cleaning and maintaining the dryer by using warm, soapy water or any good quality detergent. Paying most attention the leg top and bottom and outside of the pod. You should not attempt to clean the inside of the pod.


Can it be moved from one site to another?

Yes, it can be removed as easily and in the same way as it was fitted. If you do this, don’t forget to update your guarantee registration.


Can the dryer be used by children under 8 years old?

Yes, providing they have had sufficient instruction, knowledge and are supervised by an adult.


Does it come in different colours?

Yes, we can supply white, anthracite and latte. Additionally you can supply your colour code in RAL form and we can supply a bespoke dryer in that colour. More information can on bespoke colours can be found here


If I am not satisfied can I have my money back?

Yes, you have 14 days, starting the day after the day you take possession of the goods. Please see our refund policy for further information.


Why should I register my airBody Dryer?

It is a requirement to register your airBody Dryer®, by doing so it provides a record of purchase. So if a claim had to be made within the first 24 months it is easier and quicker. It also means transition onto the 3 or 5 year warranty is less hassle.

How do I complain?

At airTeem® we want to know of any concern, dissatisfaction, worry, or niggle, however slight, felt by anyone with whom we have dealings of any sort. Do you have any testimonials or recommendations?

Yes, the body dryer has been manufactured for over 20 years so we have had plenty of previous customers happy with their purchase. Some dryers are still in use in homes after 20 years of drying. A few recent testimonials can be found here


I’ve seen similar products, are they all the same?

There is only one true apresShower®, there have been other models previously. But airTeem® only deal with the airBody Dryer®, formerly the apresShower®


Do you have special deals for ladies and gentleman who have served in the armed forces?

How do I use the remote?

The remote is very simple to use. When the body dryer is off press the remote firmly once for speed one, once on speed one a second press of the remote will switch it onto speed. A third and final press will turn the body dryer off. Read our Blog blog about our bespoke remote, along with our demo video here.


My dryer has stopped working.

If your dryer has stopped working the first thing to check is the airswitch. Detach the PVC connector, reconnect it and try again. If this doesn’t work there could be an issue with the electrical connection, which requires an electrician to check, or an issue within the airBody Dryer® pod. If there is an issue with the pod and it is out of its guarantee we have a repair service which can help you – Repair Service. If your body dryer is under guarantee you may need to speak to your supplier or call a member of airTeem® and we can discuss the issue further and provide you with the best course of action.


The airBody Dryer leg has been damaged, can I get a replacement?

Yes, airBody Dryer®’s replacement parts are available at www.airteem.co.uk/shop. Take a note of your model and colour to ensure you get the correct part.


Can the dryer be placed in the middle of a wall?

Yes it can. The airBody Dryer® is not designed to be fitted this way but if required it can be installed in this manner.


Can the column be shortened and if so what is the maximum it can be cut by?

Yes, the bottom leg can be reduced to facilitate multiple situations. The bottom leg can be reduced by a maximum of 44cm. We recommend never cutting across the tear-drop pores.


Can the dryer be fixed horizontally rather than vertically where space is an issue?

We would not recommend fitting the airBody Dryer® in a horizontal position.


What does the “crossed out wheelie bin” symbol on the label mean?

This symbol shows that the body dryer you have should not be disposed of in the normal waste stream. It relates to an EU directive called WEEE, Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive.


What does the cupid logo mean?

It means the body dryer you are buying is ‘Cupid Certified’. The apresShower® Body Dryer is a product manufactured by a family run business. Only the body dryers that have been manufactured by our family run business, at the original creative location, will be issued with the cupid logo. You will find the little cupid at the bottom of web pages, on the packaging of our body dryer, in the User Guide and various other places.
